Shared Folders and You (with Your Mobile)

Carbonio CE allows you to synchronise folders that are not owned by the user to mobile devices. This applies to all item types supported by the Exchange ActiveSync protocol, so you may sync any shared email folder, contact book, calendar, or task list to a mobile device.

Specific functionality accessible on mobile devices may change depending on the client in use.

Restrictions

The constraints for shared folder synchronisation are as follows:

• It is not feasible to sync a mountpoint referencing a whole account share.
• It is not feasible to sync a subdirectory of a shared folder, as this would produce an incomplete folder tree.
• It is not feasible to sync a read-only share since the Exchange ActiveSync protocol does not support the idea of a read-only resource. Synchronising a read-only folder will result in severe discrepancies between the client and the server, along with several errors.
