Web interface accessibility
The first thing to do is update the zextras user’s password. This is a critical step since this user has complete control over all Carbonio functions, thus its password must be strong. More information and the command to update the password may be found in the Manage Global Administrators section.
After changing the password, open a compatible browser and navigate to the Proxy Node’s IP or hostname and port 6071 (e.g., https://172.16.0.12:6071/) to access the Carbonio Admin Panel with the user zextras@example.com and the password you just changed.
If the login is successful, navigate to Domains, pick the domain example.com, and then under General Settings, enter:
- Set the Public Server Host Name to https://mail.example.com.
- The Public Service Port, with the code 443.
These two variables together reflect the URL that visitors must visit in order to use Carbonio’s functionalities.
Manage global administrators.
To update the password used by the zextras@example.com account for Web access, connect into a shell terminal as the zextras user and perform the command.
Make sure the new password matches high security standards.
A new Global Admin may be established using the Carbonio Admin Panel; please see the section Create New Global Admin for instructions.
